Great Glebe Garage Sale and Pow Wow

There is a neighborhood called The Glebe south of downtown Ottawa. Every year in May the whole neighborhood turns into a giant garage sale. Heather and I rode the bikes there and tried to find some hidden treasures among the vast amounts of junk that people accumulate over the course of a year. It was a beautiful early summer’s day. Oh yeah and that purple coat? I got that for free. 😀

On Sunday I experienced my first Pow Wow. I got to see First Nation Canadians in traditional clothing celebrating their culture with dance and music. And because Heather knew some people there from work I got a personal introduction to some of the indigenous traditions.
